We are taking a break on 9th and 16th, but you would be welcome to join us on 23rd October at Mike and Laura's and on 30th at Bill and Maha's. This month's topic - Integrity and what it looks like in our daily lives. (Addresses available from Muriel Stenhouse 07908805364, or by contacting the church office.)

Operation Christmas Child - Shoebox Appeal

Our annual appeal for this Christian charity has started.  We are asking you to fill your own shoebox rather than bring loose items.  Flatpack shoeboxes are available in the large hall today after the service together with leaflets and packing lists and every Sunday up to 3 November. These are also available in the Church office at other times. Please put new items only in the box and do not Sellotape the box closed as all boxes are checked at a checking centre, just put a rubber band round the box to keep everything secure. Boxes cost about £5 to send and if you would also like to donate this, put the money in an envelope on top of the contents in the box. All complete boxes must be handed in by Sunday 10 November. If you need any more information please see Adrian Johnston.

Edinburgh Floral Art Club: Tickets are now available at £10 each from the Church Office and Alison Hewat for the Open Flower Demonstration on Saturday 26th October at 2pm in the Large Hall. All are welcome to come and enjoy James Burnside’s work. He is a very talented arranger from Northern Ireland and we are in for a treat.

Would you like to own a piece of Blackhall St Columba’s history?

For those who missed the opportunity to buy a pew, or didn’t have room for one, we are pleased to have worked with a craft carpenter to produce picture/photo frames from some of the pew wood. There are two styles available made entirely from our wood with certificates of authenticity. Frames are around A4 size and those from pew legs are £75 and from other pew wood are £50.  They will be on display and orders will be taken at tea after church over the next few weeks, or contact Ruth Laidlaw or Fay Stirling.  Great for Christmas gifts too!
