The WATCH Committee (Working All Together Caring & Helping through the Cross) was set up by the Kirk Session in 1991 with the specific remit to support and raise awareness of local charities. Since then the committee has raised  funds for many local causes including:

  • Capability Scotland

  • Cystic Fibrosis

  • Down's Syndrome

  • Motor Neurone Disease

  • Parkinson's Disease

  • Rock Trust

  • Erskine Edinburgh Home

  • Teenage Cancer Trust

  • Fresh Start

  • Richmond's Hope

  • Disability Snowsport UK

  • The Yard Adventure Centre

The charity chosen by the WATCH Committee in 2016 was Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, which is raising funds to train puppies in Scotland.

During the latter half of 2016 the Committee organised the summer coin collection, the Craft Coffee Morning, a quiz and the Christmas Fair with wonderful support from the Congregation, the Blackhall community and local businesses.

In January 2017, in front of the Congregation, a cheque for £10,000 was handed over to  Carol Jones, Scottish Organiser for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. The Committee is grateful to all those individuals and organisations who continue to support our fund-raising activities resulting in over £250,000 being raised for local charities since 1992.
