Easter Community Events in the Presbytery of Edin

Prayer Support

Please see below information about 6 special mission activities in the Presbytery of Edinburgh and West Lothian over the Easter period.  Your prayer support for these initiatives would be much appreciated.

“The Easter Code is being presented in 14 schools across Livingston in the run up to Easter - prayers for the children, teachers and team would be much appreciated. The Easter Code is presented to Primary 7 classes and the team will be led by Helen Jenkins and she will be supported by volunteers from Livingston United Parish and Livingston Old Parish churches.”

“At Marchmont St Giles Parish Church in Edinburgh this Lent we are running a Muddy Church for children and young people. Meeting in The Grange Cemetery every Sunday morning with our friends from St Catherine’s Argyle, we will reflect on Bible passages and investigate God's presence in our neighbourhood, as witnessed in what we see, hear and smell!”

“On Easter Saturday - March 30th - we will be in Space to Be at the Gyle Centre between 2 and 4 with lots of Easter Crafts for children.”

“Our four churches are having a three-day Easter Holiday club from April 3rd to 5th, 2024, and registration is now open! The Holiday Club will be held at Polwarth Church and will run from 10-12.30 on each of the days. We will have games, crafts, songs, team challenges, circus skills and a messy challenge. Over the three days, we will be exploring the Easter story and finding out who Jesus is and how we can get to know him ourselves. This holiday club is for anyone who is currently in P1 to P7.”

“Deep Sea Divers Holiday Club will be held at St Stephen’s, Comely Bank from 8th-12th April plus a Sunday all age service. All primary school children are welcome.”

“The Edinburgh Easter Play brings the story of Easter to life in a new version every year, beneath the iconic backdrop of Edinburgh Castle. This year’s production is a large-scale traditional passion play in full costume, told by 11 women whose lives were changed by encountering Jesus. Meet the ordinary people at the heart of the Easter Story who witnessed the events of Jesus’ life, death and Resurrection. Join us to watch one of the world’s great stories brought to life in Edinburgh’s most dramatic location. It will be presented on Saturday 30th March, 2pm, in West Princes Street Gardens. The event is free and unticketed.”
