Fresh Start is a charity, set up by Edinburgh churches, which helps people who have been homeless get established in their new home. They deliver a range of services that provide practical and social support that helps people resettle successfully.

At St Columba's, every Friday between 10am and 11.30am there is a volunteer on duty (usually in the small hall) to receive items of bed linen, towels, curtains, dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, cleaning materials, small electrical appliances that are in working order (no TVs or heaters) and tinned and dried food which are then taken to Fresh Start.

Many members of our congregation are active in the teams providing practical support.
