WACH  Committee

Working All Together Caring & Helping through the Cross

The WATCH Committee was set up by the Kirk Session in 1991 with the specific remit to support and raise awareness of local charities. Since then, the committee has raised funds for many local causes.

The last charities to benefit from our fundraising were Beach Wheelchairs Portobello and Kindred, a family support service based at the Sick Kids Hospital. After a full program of events in 2019 we raised £8,220.

Unfortunately, the work of the committee has not been possible over 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic but now we are planning a full program for 2022 with a Summer Coin Collection, an October Coffee Morning and the Christmas Fair at the start of Advent.

This year we are supporting the Pilton Equalities Project (P.E.P.) which supports older people and vulnerable groups and are restarting their lunch clubs and other activities. They are also now using their minibuses to transport  displaced families from Ukraine.

  • The Coin Collection will take place throughout July and August
  • The Coffee Morning will be on October 1st
  • The Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday 26th November.

We hope that once again the congregation and the local community will support our work this year.
