Membership Course

MEMBERSHIP CLASSES

Scripture teaches that in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others (Romans 12:5).

Membership in Blackhall St. Columba’s Church is therefore open to all who profess faith in Jesus Christ and believe the basic teachings of the Christian faith.

Church membership is an important expression of the believer’s love and loyalty to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Blackhall St. Columba’s Church, is a congregation of people committed to Jesus Christ. Each member is a vitally unique and important person in our church family.

We recommend to any believer in Jesus Christ who has become a regular part of our church community to consider becoming a member. But what does that mean? How do I know if I’m a true believer? What do I have to do to become a member? Will I have responsibilities as a member? I’m only a new Christian! What if I’m already a member of a different church or denomination?

There are many more questions you might have about membership at Blackhall St. Columba’s Church. This course aims to answer all those questions and probably others that you haven’t thought of yet. It is a course specifically for those who are enquiring or preparing for membership. It’s also a very good course for new Christians.

This course is a series of 8 lessons to introduce you to the teachings of the Christian faith, and what it means to be a member of St. Columba’s Church. Attendance is required for all who want to join the church.

Once the membership course is completed, at an arranged Sunday, after having been received by the Kirk Session, you will be publicly welcomed into membership during the 11.00 am morning worship service.

If you are interested in learning more about Blackhall St. Columba’s Church, and how to become a member, please visit our church on any Sunday for more information or contact the Church’s Office.
